I was selected as one of the 2016 McCanna Artist-in-Residence Program participants. The three week residency in North Dakota allowed for uninterrupted time to work and explore potential for new pieces inspired by the local area.
Margery McCanna Jennison donated her home in western Grand Forks County to the North Dakota Museum of Art in 2010 with the intention that it would be preserved as a residency for artists, composers, and writers. The state’s first residency program, it houses one to three artists at a time from three to eight week periods. Past artists-in-residents include Pirjo Berg, James Culleton, Carole d’Inverno, Helgi and Vala Eyjólfsson, Chris Pancoe, Todd Pate, John Colle Rogers, Tim Schouten, and Margaret Wall-Romana.
